Black Flag and Borne on the South Wind Trailers Filmed

August, 2008

On several dates in late July and early August, the LCF crew gathered to film promotional trailers for its next two documentary productions, Black Flag and Borne on the South Wind.

Set immediately following the Lawrence Massacre and on the day of its fiftieth anniversary, the trailer for Black Flag recreates the opening volley of Union and Kansas retaliation against the guerillas responsible.

The trailer for Borne on the South Wind centers around a young Clyde Cessna who looked up one day and decided he wanted to fly.

Both trailers are currently in post-production and will debut here, on the Lone Chimney Films website.  Until then, you’ll have to make due with the production photos below.

Photo captions from left to right:  Logan Herrington as Young Clyde Cessna (that’s Kanan Curtis hiding behind the camera).  Walter Elder portrays a guerilla fleeing Union pursuers.  “Mr. Herrington” is escorted onto the set by his personal assistant, LCF Executive Director Ken Spurgeon.  Jon Goering as a Union cavalryman.  Union cavalry catches up to a Confederate guerilla.  Becky Herrington as Mary Cessna, mother of Clyde.
