Dear Friends,

It has been a whirlwind of activity lately for those of us involved in Lone Chimney Films, and we want to share our exciting times with you.  Home on the Range premiered January 13th at Wichita’s historic Orpheum Theatre with over 800 people braving the icy winter weather to attend.  It was a fantastic crowd, and we enjoyed seeing many members of the cast and crew that were able to attend, along with wonderful music provided by the Prairie Rose Rangers and the McKinney sisters.

The following week, we were off to Kansas City for another premiere at Union Station’s Regnier Extreme Screen theatre, this time to a sold-out crowd!  It was amazing to see our movie on the giant screen, and we were thrilled to have live music provided by our good friend Jed Marum, along with Hugh Morrison, the Prairie Rose Rangers, and the McKinney sisters.  We were joined by one of the big stars of our movie, the voice of the Kansas City Chiefs, Mitch Holthus.  What a night!

Then on January 21st and 22nd, we brought Home on the Range to Smith Center, Kansas for a special premiere weekend in the place that started it all.  These two shows sold out quickly, and two additional screenings were added to accommodate the demand.  It was wonderful to share the film with the people of Smith Center, and we enjoyed meeting so many who shared their own memories of the cabin that is near and dear to them.

We were very honored to be invited to screen Home on the Range at the Kansas State Capitol on January 30th in celebration of Kansas Day thanks to State Senator Elaine Bowers and Representative Troy Waymaster.  We were joined by Michael Martin Murphey who performed “Home on the Range” on the floor of the State Senate.  It was a memorable day as we were treated to a private tour of our beautiful capitol, introductions in both the House and Senate chambers, and a meeting with Governor Sam Brownback.

If you haven’t had the opportunity to attend one of these screenings, we have exciting news for you!  We are bringing Home on the Range back to the Orpheum Theatre for an encore screening which will feature the stars of the film and music from legendary singer Michael Martin Murphey.  Please join us for this special event on Saturday, May 13th at 7:00 pm.  Tickets are on sale now at
