Bloody Dawn: The Lawrence Massacre

The story of the Lawrence Massacre looks at a dark chapter in our history and reminds us of the ugliness and brutality of Civil War, terrorism, hatred and misunderstandings.
It is the story of William C. Quantrill's raid on Lawrence, Kansas. In this event, over 150 unarmed civilian males were killed in cold blood.
The documentary will discuss the politics in the Kansas-Missouri region and recap the first two years of the war leading up to this raid.
The film will utilize the "direct cinema" tradition of documentary films, but will also dedicate a portion of the film to docudrama, where the raid will be played out in cinematic detail. |
Filming has begun for Bloody Dawn! The cast and crew spent several days filming the first weekend in June. Filming took place at Cowtown and Satchel Creek Ranch.
